A special ceremony was held to commemorate this milestone,
featuring former Ozeki（※1） sumo wrestler Tochinoshin as a guest.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, THE SUMO HALL HIRAKUZA OSAKA, an inbound oriented sumo entertainment show hall operated by HANSHIN CONTENTS LINK CORPORATION, reached the significant milestone of welcoming its 10,000th visitor.
In celebration of this achievement, all attendees received commemorative gifts, and the 10,000th guest participated in a special ceremony. Former Ozeki（※1） Tochinoshin （real name： Levan Gorgadze） was invited as a special guest, where he led a special talk session.
The memorable 10,000th guest was a family from Spain. They shared their thoughts, saying, “We were surprised but thrilled to be the 10,000th visitors. While we didn’t know much about sumo before, this show helped us learn in a fun and engaging way. It became a wonderful memory of our trip to Japan.”
Tochinoshin, originally from Georgia and now an ambassador of sumo culture after his retirement, commented, “This venue is perfect for sharing sumo, one of Japan’s most iconic cultural traditions. It’s truly gratifying that over 10,000 international guests have already visited. I hope the charm of sumo continues to reach even more people abroad.”
